Of cabbages and kings
Feb. 17th, 2007 01:30 pmStill hitting quota for
novel_in_90. I came close to breaking stride a couple of times last week, and will likely be close again this coming week due to commitments for the second career, so I'm banking words tonight and tomorrow and on the blessed Monday holiday in hopes of carrying myself through.
At the moment, I'm at 42K by Word's word count and 55K if you measure by SMF, which is significantly above
novel_in_90's expectation of 31,500, but then my goal is significantly higher than the community's.

Topics researched this week:
Provinces of Cuba, ca. 1720.
Shoes and, more generally, clothing for the same era. (This is a great website for those who, like me, prefer to see the things they're describing: http://reconstructinghistory.com/index.php?s=&r=Y)
Chromatic scale, and the number of notes therein.
Bell towers and their construction.
Bell clappers, though I could find precious little information about a preference for one material over another. Gonna wing this one, I think.

Gi has discovered that the story antag does not believe him, either. How irritating it must be to profess to being a failure and have people refuse to accept your apologies!
