Did you--you iPod user, you--know that iTunes has a feature called iTunes U that collects free lectures and movies and podcasts on many different subjects? You can pick a category - like history, fine arts, language, science, mathematics - or an educational program - like the Center for Strategic and International Studies, or the New York Public Library, or the Museum of Modern Art - and choose amongst hundreds of productions. I now have something to add to my usual googling of research topics. Go! Learn!

Now I have to add iPod to the list of things I don't have and don't need, but I WANT.

Though it's educational and to do with learnin', isn't it, so maybe I can bump it up to "Don't have, might need"? Can't I? Can't I?

Well, I personally have a Mac and not an iPod, but I do think you can get iTunes without an iPod. (And the littlest iPods are getting relatively cheap, too, so allow me to help your argument with yourself, there. Because I am ebul. *g*)

Glad you like it! I've become a demon icon-grabber, I'm afraid.

I spend lots of time trawling for them and even more time deciding which ones to use (I have 70 so far. Only 35 more and I'll need to buy another 100!)

Oops. Sorry 'bout that! I should know better than to make such assumptions (and I'm not really sure why I did!) Everyone used to assume I was male online. Not sure why *g*

No problem! I get the same assumption all the time, and am amused by it. (And truthfully, in terms of reader perception of an author's work, it's maybe not so awful....)

In those terms, it's probably not! I'm just annoyed with myself because with my background - and my feelings about gender pigeonholing - I still find myself tripped by the old assumptions! I'm blaming your icon *g*
