Accidental Alliterations
Jun. 12th, 2006 09:37 amI love the sound of words. I love them especially when they sneak up on me and toss me a rhythm and a rhyme:
#
I woke to the sound of rain
plopping into a blocked drain
in the outside stairwell beneath my bedroom window,
so I had to get up and go unblock the drain
so we don't have rain in the garage, too,
but then it was back to bed (after drying my ankles) to listen to the rain.
And now everything is green and fresh again.
Thank you for sending me your rain.
#
I don't write poetry. I just throw words at the paper, and sometimes they stick. This makes me happy.
And, on other fronts, the graduation party is done and over and successful. My brain cells think they need a vacation. Since today is overcast and I have, miraculously enough, a few brain cells free, I may just give them that vacation.
