More Queries on their way
Jul. 1st, 2006 03:27 pmMailed more queries out yesterday. All of this batch got at least a sample set of the first five pages; one wanted the first chapter, and another wanted the first 50 pages.
Dumb move of the day: sealing up two of the envelopes before I'd signed the cover letter.
I want to talk about alternate history stories, but that's not querying, so....

Re: signing before sealing
Date: 2006-07-02 02:09 pm (UTC)And I'm here to tell you, there's little more terrifying (to me, at least) than dropping those pages into the envelope and handing it to the clerk. (Oh, my god, did I remember to put the right letter in the right envelope? Did I put in the right attachments? Did I get those attachments right, after all, or was this the agent who said "no samples?" Will they find the SASE? Does the stamp clash with the address label?) I'm not really that anal-retentive, but this process makes one so.
And yes, the stamp clashed. *g* And that clashing stamp will carry my envelope all the way to New York, regardless.
