A complicated recipe, but my kitchen has never smelled so good. I'll be making these again, and next time I'm going to try a more traditional shortbread shaped pan, to see how it works. They have enough butter in them to release well from the pan, I think.
If you try this recipe and put them on a cookie sheet as the recipe calls for, be aware that they spread out a bit. Let them cook until the edges are slightly brown, though, and they come off the cookie sheet just perfectly.
