I recognize that your past contains elements I have no inkling of and would probably choose not to know regardless. I understand that certain attitudes appear to make you extremely uncomfortable (and if that is a misunderstanding on my part, I apologize). Nevertheless, the next time I make some boneheaded statement that I should have taken more care in crafting, can we please let the person I'm actually talking to respond to me him/herself? [Other correspondent] is certainly smart enough and confident enough to go nuclear on my ass if need be, or to advance the discourse if s/he'd rather.
