Querying update
Apr. 18th, 2006 01:56 pmI've modified my standard blurb for Cavalier, to be used in query letters. It's not quite as succinct and, er, blurby as the one I had been using, but I think it conveys more of what the story's about, and that's what they want in query letters, yes?
Anyway, what do you think of this:
In CAVALIER ATTITUDE, Dimo Avrila--part Zorro the Gay Blade, part James Bond--makes his living fleecing highborn and commoners alike until his spymaster employer saddles him with arranging the escape of an abdicating foreign dignitary. The bloodthirsty zealot behind the dignitary's flight would like nothing better than to catch Dimo, too, and use his trial for crimes against morality to remake the political landscape of two nations. All that stands between Dimo and destruction are his lover, a sacrificial virgin intent on offering herself to Dimo, and the sense of honor Dimo is commonly supposed not to have.
