So, not as many words as I'd have liked, but RL definitely intruded, as it has a tendency to do. Some folks would probably say I shouldn't have tempted fate with my certainty that the words would come. >:-)

The accountability thing did finally kick in, however, and force me to move the story forward, so I can report more words for this evening than I got the two previous days combined. I'll take that as a win. I also got a much better glimpse into one of my secondary characters. And it is now very late, and the dogs aren't going to let me sleep in tomorrow so I need to go close my eyes. Onward!

That is a nice sum you've built up! I don't even know how many words total I have. I should do the math.

Word has a tool built in that tells you the total number of words - assuming you're using some version of Word, look under the Tools menu for Word Count. Alternatively, look at the bottom of your screen; Word puts a lot of data along the bar at the bottom of the screen, and one of those bits is often word count, usually displayed as two numbers separated by a slash. In my version of Word, the first number is the total count for text that's highlighted (manually, with my cursor, which is how I figure out my daily count), and the second is the total for the document.

I'm not familiar with other word processors, but I'm betting yours has something like this.
