Bookkeeping: Lynch
Jun. 19th, 2012 09:24 pmWell, I've managed to outline a place for future foreshadowing of what Jody's in for in his relationship with Martha, and I think I've built myself a transition to the next scene, but things are not worse yet. I sort of feel like I've violated my own rule; things ought to get worse in the first act, right? They need to be worse - a lot worse - in order for some of the emotional layers I have intended to work.
Which means that, not only have I under-written for potential readers, but I've under-written for myself as well. ::growls::
But that also means that I may not be on the wrong track after all. I just haven't signposted it enough. That, I can live with. After all, I have yet to write a book where I didn't have to go back and repeatedly layer in material that should have been on the page to begin with.
New words today, grabbed at lunch: 282
Total words: 6388
Mean things: having someone observant direct his attention at you, when you'd much rather stay invisible; having someone observant talk about things he expects you already know...and you had no idea.
Research: zilch, unless you count working out blocking in my head
